I was on my way to church one Sunday when I heard in my spirit, “I’ve given you media, music, and publishing and you’ve done nothing with it.” I became extremely overwhelmed because that was when I realized I allowed my fears to take hold of my purpose and dreams.
The very next day, I was on Facebook and someone reached out to me and said, “Are you ready to go to the next level in your media now?” With this whole new vision right in front of me, it wasn’t long until The Wynn Network came to life.
Growing up, I would watch my father host his own inspirational television show which aired on local television from 1980 to 1983. He was the first African-American to have a show in my hometown, Reno, Nevada. I remember being 10 years old, and seeing my dad on TV was really exciting because it opened my mind to the possibilities of media and entertainment. I then got my start in the media when I was 26 years old, hosting my own inspirational TV show on local television in Sacramento, California. The show was called “Set Free,” and my mission was to empower viewers through the word of God. I hosted choirs, singing groups, dancers, and gospel teaching. I even encouraged viewers to be a part of the excitement and events by inviting them to join us during our food giveaways and toy drives. Media has made a major impact and has always been a part of my life.
I launched The Wynn Network with my family in 2017 as a place where inspiration meets entertainment through movies, short films, and TV shows. The network is a video on-demand and streaming service reaching 380 million homes worldwide. The mission of The Wynn Network is to develop inspirational content to be viewed throughout the global community. With a variety of programs ranging from drama, comedy, and documentaries, our top priority is to provide good content for the contemporary Christian. Viewers can enjoy feel-good movies that inspire laughs or provoke sentiments or talk shows that make them think. The Wynn Network has something for everyone.
While our network is continuing to expand all across the world, my family and I are driven to do more than just produce contemporary inspirational films. We develop artists and actors through our acting academy program. We also rally together with community leaders and local ministries to feed our community for free and donate supplies to students returning to school.
Currently, my team and I are working on an interesting project called “John Wynn’s Playhouse.” It’s about a couple’s retreat that was expected to be a getaway but soon becomes an unwanted therapy session where Dr. Williams and his peculiar methods discover hidden memories.

About Dr. John Wynn
Born and raised in Reno, Nevada, Dr. John Wynn is a successful entrepreneur and Founder of The Wynn Network. He and his wife Edith have been married since 1991. They began their journey by creating businesses, raising a family, and helping others along the way. They have eight talented children–four boys and four girls who all work in business alongside their parents.
Dr. Wynn holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Social Sciences from Sacramento City College, a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Ashford University, and a Doctorate of Divinity from the Joint College of African-American Pentecostal Bishops.
As an accomplished author, producer, writer, and musician, he has produced three inspirational music CDs and written two noteworthy books. Wynn is also a consultant who has over 25 years of experience working with teachers, students, parents, and community stakeholders to help students graduate. He has also achieved great success developing curriculums, seminars, and programs that aid entrepreneurs in getting to the next level of their business in their life. Dr. Wynn is passionate about inspiring people to understand the greatness within and achieving their dreams.
