The CNJ Statement of Faith

Christian News Journal stands by the following Biblical views:

THE BIBLE

We believe that the Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testament, is the inspired, inerrant, everlasting Word of God. These Scriptures are the sole and absolute authority for faith and practice and have been revealed to man so that all may come to know God and to live out the Christian faith according to His divine direction.

GOD

We believe in one Triune God that exists in three distinct, co-equal persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

God the Father: He is the sole, sovereign Creator and Ruler of the universe Who loves the world and sent His only Son, Jesus, to earth to bring redemption to mankind. He is the Father of all Christians through the work of salvation, the One to whom all believers pray, and the Judge who will one day bring final justice to the earth.
God the Son: Jesus Christ, while remaining fully God, took on human form through supernatural virgin birth and lived a sinless life on earth. Through His death, burial, and resurrection, He made eternal life accessible to all people. His work being complete, He now sits on the right hand of God.
God the Holy Spirit: Also known as the Comforter or the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit seals and indwells believers at the moment of salvation unto the day of redemption. He indwells each believer and serves to comfort, convict, and teach believers and to convict the world of sin.

SIN AND SALVATION

Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6). Good works do not bring salvation (Titus 3:5). Salvation is only accomplished when a person recognizes his hopeless sin condition and its consequences (Col. 1:21, Rom. 3:10, Matt. 10:28), repents to God of that sin, and by faith accepts gift of salvation through the redemptive death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Rom. 10:9).
