God Is Our Only Source | The Power of Worship

by christiannewsjournal

I confess the last several years have kept me locked away. Depression, melancholy, failure, and fear of the unknown, even the fear of death gripped me. I rediscovered that worship is key in pressing forward. When confronted with the unknown, and no one has the answers, God is our only source.

One afternoon, I began listening to an anointed worship session online and played it all day. It was and is an emotional game-changer. Although, it should be a no-brainer, the power of worship in our lives is sometimes put in a corner somewhere or only used on Sunday. Worship is the key in growing closer to the glory and presence of God.

Then Moses said, “I pray You, show me Your glory!” And He said, “I Myself will make all My goodness pass before you and will proclaim the name of the LORD before you, and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show compassion on whom I will show compassion.”

It can start by playing anointed worship instrumental songs played on an iPhone or in the car. I want to encourage you to worship Him to fight and take you out of the lion’s den. It’s not easy. We fill life with things to distract from the pain in survival mode. May God lift you to break the shackles off your feet. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” (Romans 15:13)

Worship breaks us through, be encouraged when others can’t give you what is needed. You’re not alone, He remains on His throne in your pain, right now. God can take us into a deeper relationship with Him. He baptizes us into a fire of healing and hope. In His presence, there is peace and joy.

Deuteronomy 10:21 reads: “He is the one you praise; He is your God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes.” Psalm 99 is another stalwart Scripture: The Lord reigns, let the nations tremble; He sits enthroned between the cherubim, let the earth shake. Great is the Lord in Zion; He is exalted over all the nations. Let them praise your great and awesome name— He is holy…”

Worship is available to everyone. Allow it to lift your spirit and soar closer to the One who longs to be close to you, in pain, trouble or triumph.
