TV Minister Jesse Duplantis Says People Can ‘Speed Up’ Jesus’ Return by Donating More Money

by christiannewsjournal

Author and television minister Jesse Duplantis stated people can “speed up” Jesus’ return by donating more money to the ministry. The pastor and co-founder of Covenant Church in New Orleans said to tithe to the Victory Channel, a network of Kenneth Copeland Ministries during a recent fundraiser.

“The reason why Jesus hasn’t come is because people are not giving away what God told them to give,” the founder of Jesse Duplantis Ministries said. “You see what I’m saying? I mean, when you understand it – you can speed up the time.”

Duplantis added, “What is God saying to you? And I really believe this. If people would call this number and put this Victory all over the world — every available voice, every available outlet. The Father would say, ‘Jesus, go get them.’ Because you see, He wants to see us as much as we want to see Him.”

Duplantis was criticized for the ministry’s response to Hurricane Ida in early September when St. Charles Parish was one of the hardest hit by the storm.

“Shame on you and all that allow you to profit from this disaster,” one woman wrote in a Facebook post.

“Outside of your podcasts and Facebook staged videos I’ve not seen nor heard from you or your church staff,” she continued.

Here is a Scripture from Matthew 24:36-42 to add context on the “speed up” the time comment from Duplantis.

“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. Therefore keep watch, you do not know on what day your Lord will come.”
