New International Launches ‘Miles for Missions’ Initiative

by christiannewsjournal

A Fort Myers based mission sending agency launched its Mile for Missions initiative this week in an effort to cover 25,000 miles – the number of miles around the earth – and raise $100,000 to support global missions. Friends and supporters are being asked to commit to a number of miles they will complete on Saturday, May 22nd, as well as a fundraising goal they are excited to reach.

This initiative gives partners all over the world the opportunity to be involved in this collaborative one day event in a way that feels comfortable for them, and they can invite others to join their efforts as well. New International is encouraging team leads and participants to commit to bike, swim, walk, jog, fly, drive, or any other method of covering miles on May 22nd. This initiative gives team leads the opportunity to fundraise for the ministries they support in a fun and creative way. Anyone can participate by signing up at www.newinternational.org, or emailing MilesforMissions@newinternational.org.

New International is a mission sending agency headquartered in Fort Myers, FL, with more than 225 missionaries serving in 40 countries globally. Partnering with New International means extreme poverty relief for children and families in Africa; investment in food and water security in Zimbabwe; helping at-risk youth start viable businesses in Myanmar; providing a loving home for disabled orphans in Ukraine; church planting in Mexico; rescuing girls from sex-trafficking in Asia; ensuring missionaries have the tools and resources they need to thrive on the field; and more.

“As an organization, we strive to be innovative in our approach to ministry,” shares Jeff Metzger, CEO of New International. “This includes coming up with new ways to support our missionaries and involve our partners during the challenging times of the past year. We are excited to see how God uses this initiative to sustain ministry and resource our missionaries, while providing a fun way for partners to be involved.”

Ministry opportunities supported by New International include career missions, internships, short term projects, apprenticeships, missions training and speaker requests, and child sponsorships.

Founded in 1989, New International was one family’s dream to assist Russian pastors in planting churches and discipling new believers. Building on this foundation, New International continues to join with God in what He is already doing to foster the church and believers globally.
