How To Clean Your Home in 15 Minutes or Less

by christiannewsjournal

If your guests for this year’s holidays are arriving in 15 minutes and if your home is not exactly in its top condition in terms of cleanliness make sure that you do not panic. Here are some strategies and tips for cleaning your home within 15 minutes. If not fully clean you can certainly provide an appearance of being a spotless domicile. 15 minutes is a lot of time if you are smart enough with time management and are strategic with selecting the places you need to be cleaned. There is no time to get engaged in serious cleaning such as cleaning your equipment. It is not the time for cleaning dishwashers and microwaves although these tasks have to be performed at some stage.

Think about a strategy

Before moving to your house, you had already partnered with a real estate company, such as Lotmix, who took care of the house you live in. However, now it is up to you to keep it as clean as possible. You should spend 30 seconds thinking about a strategy for the short time at hand, this strategy should not only be for cleaning but also for home remodeling. You can even get a notepad and prepare a checklist for this brief home cleaning. The basic idea is to keep moving all the time to ensure that you do not get bogged down with a single task. It is okay if you clean many areas for a small amount of time than spending all those 15 minutes cleaning one item. Think about the bigger picture and cover the significant areas.

Concentrate on Specific Rooms

When people are coming over there is every chance that the available time will be spent on cleaning a specific area. These areas normally include the kitchen, bathroom, and gathering places such as the dining room or the den. Focus on these spaces because the majority of the guests are unlikely to wander to other rooms and open your closets. If you are looking to prioritize, spend some additional time in your bathroom as dirty bathrooms are obvious for your guests.

Focus on large spaces

If you want to be successful at cleaning anything you should concentrate on cleaning the floors of commonplaces. Vacuuming the den and sweeping the kitchen might take just a few minutes but it will make a huge difference in terms of overall appearance and perception. If nothing else the tracks you will leave on the freshly vacuumed carpet will provide a general appearance of focused cleaning to your guests. If you do not have the time to organize this kind of equipment you can spend some time looking around at certain areas and picking up the noticeable pieces of junk and trash.

Remove all the clutter

There is every chance of a home accumulating clutter. Concentrate on picking all of it up. Ideally, you may want to put all these things away in their rightful places but with the clock ticking away this may not be possible. In such a case, get hold of a laundry basket or the unused tote bags for going through the home and collect all the things that are not intended to be in that place. Stash away the laundry basket and the bags inside the room that are unlikely to be used. You may want to consider stuffing the items inside a closet or under the bed. However, if your home is already in a cluttered state there is every chance that these spaces are occupied by your previous attempts at decluttering the house. You can group all your papers and mail them together so that you do not lose significant documents or bills. You can sort through them after your guests have left the home.

Equipment

The equipment you will need for this short period includes:

  • Vacuum cleaner.
  • Dusting pads and disposable floor maps.
  • Disinfectant wipes.
  • Dry dust cloths.
  • Paper towels.
  • Toilet scrubbers that use disposable cleaning heads.
  • Air freshener.

Before you begin the work you need to list down the rooms on priority. Make a list of rooms that will be cleaned on priority and concentrate your efforts on these rooms. Keep in mind that you do not have the time for deep cleaning as you are going to need some time to get ready as well. When it is time to get your house ready for guests quickly you have to place all hands on the deck. Get children and everyone you can find to work. The younger children may not be able to help with other things but they might be able to collect the clutter.
