On Sunday a Muncie Indiana women frantically called 911 to report she was trapped in her car sinking into the river.

“I’m in the White River and my car doors won’t open. I don’t know what happened,” the 18-year-old victim told authorities. “I think my eyes went blank or something. Again, in the river and I can’t get out.”

Officers arrived on the scene and “tried to open the doors, and the driver’s side and the back driver’s side wouldn’t open up,” Officer Casey Bell told WTHR-TV. “

“It was probably four or five hits and I finally got a hole big enough to stick my hand through, but when I stuck my hand through, it still wouldn’t open from the inside. Something was wrong with the door. So, I broke all the glass from the window and reached in to check to see if she had a seatbelt on and thankfully, she didn’t. So, I was able to pull her out through the window,” he said.

“You talk to any police officer, he’ll be more than happy to tell you he would jump into the water to save somebody,” added Bell.
