AOC Calls For New Democrat Leadership

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) shared House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), need to go in a podcast interview with The Intercept on Dec. 16.

“I do think we need new leadership in the Democratic Party,” said AOC, who believed the pair are too conservative.

“I think one of the things that I have struggled with,” the 31-year-old added, “is the internal dynamics of the House has made it such that there [are] very little options for succession. The House is extraordinarily complex and I’m not ready. It can’t be me. I know that I couldn’t do that job.”

Pelosi, 80, indicated after the next two years she will be leaving as House Speaker.
